More funny things kids say

So the other day I say to H "What do you want to be when you grow up?".

She answers me as only an almost-5 year old can - "Older!"

Made me laugh. Like "Duh Mom, what do you think??". Crazy kid!!

The last few days, she's been complaining of an earache. Last night it woke her up and she ended up in bed with us, so this morning I ask her how her ear is doing and get her to take some more Motrin with a decongestant.

As we're getting ready, I ask her how her ear is feeling. She tells me "Better... totally not a big deal".

Now how are you supposed to keep a straight face to an answer like that???

Upon picking them up at school, I told her she was going to the doctor's this afternoon to have her ear looked at. She told me her ear was FINE and the medicine I gave her took care of it. I let her know she was still going to the doc, even if she just went in and said hello... so all afternoon, she's been practicing her hellos.

What a crazy kid.

From the mouths of babes....

Last week we were driving home after dropping my parents and my brother back at the hotel. I pulled into the driveway in the van with the kids. R was behind us in the car.

I turned to H and said, "So, did you have a good Christmas?".

"Oh yes!" she said. "Daddy didn't beat us!"

My mind was going a million miles an hour. Daddy didn't beat you? What the heck? He NEVER beats you, what on earth are you talking about?

About that time, R pulled into the driveway, and H exclaimed "There's Daddy!! We won! We beat him!" and I realized she meant beat him home.

Had a good giggle over that one!
